ICC Americas need a win in closing WICB U19 game on Tuesday

A win by ICC Americas against the Leeward Islands Under-19’s at the Guyana National Stadium on Tuesday (Aug 12, 2014) would move the team ahead of the Leewards and out of the basement in the tournament standings. It is ICC Americas last game of the tournament, the Leeward Islands conclude with a game against Trinidad & Tobago U19’s on Wednesday.
ICC Americas has lost four games (against Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and the Windward Islands) and had one game abandoned as a no result (against Barbados). The team has picked up 1.3 bonus points for 13 wickets taken by designated “fast” bowlers, so with two points from the No Result against Barbados U19’s, ICC Americas has 3.3 points in the standings and sits in last place. The Leeward Islands has lost two games, had two games washed out as “no result” and has 0.8 bonus points. Neither side has picked up 6 points from a win…so far.
Guyana tops the standings with four wins from four games (24 points) plus just 0.2 bonus points for two wickets taken by designated fast bowlers. Jamaica sits second with three wins, one defeat, one no result and 1.8 bonus points for a total of 21.8 points. Guyana concludes with games against the Windward Islands and Barbados. Jamaica plays the Windward Islands on Wednesday (Aug 13, 2014). The Windwards are on 14.8 points (Won 2, Lost 1, No Result 1) and Barbados has 14.5 points (also W 2, L 1, NR 1). Trinidad & Tobago has 7.3 points.
