Scotia tames RBC Lions in Canadian Corporate Cricket Final

Scotia hit 175/6 from 20 overs then restricted RBC Lions to 130/7 in Saturday morning’s Canadian Corporate League Final at Maple Leaf CC, King City, Ontario. Opener M. Singh hit 43 from 33 balls before being run out (100/4 at 12.1 ov) then R. Nasir opened up to close on 65* from 32 balls, boosted by five six-hits.

Opener U. Iqbal hit 39 from 29 balls for RBC Lions but Nasir took two early wickets to put some pressure on the Lions. A. Ali had Iqbal caught to leave RBC on 83/4 after 12.1 overs. Ali removed K Tobassum (27 off 26 balls) and S Mushtaq for a duck in his next over. H. Ahmed (19 off 19 balls) and H Ahmed (18* from 18 balls) tried to put some fire into the later batting, but when the 20 overs ran out RBC Lions had made 130/7 and Scotia won by 45 runs. Ali took 3/18 from 4 overs and Nasir 2/23 from 3 overs.
