Canada’s warm-up games in Zimbabwe

Canada will play four games against the Zimbabwe A team in Harare in early January 2015 before moving on to Windhoek, Namibia for the ICC World Cricket League Division Two. The games with Zimbabwe A will take place on January 6.8, 10 and 12. The pre-tournament preparations will include net practices and practices out in the middle. The team will travel to Namibia on January 13 and continue pre-tournament preparations for a tournament which is critical for the continued development of the game in Canada.

Preparations for those based in the Greater Toronto have included indoor nets at Sorkkam’s facilities in Scarborough as well as Sunday sessions geared towards mental preparations with a range of experts. The players have been shaping up well in the practices, according to National Coach Mukesh Narula, and have become “a hungry group” keen to do well in a Canadian international shirt.

Mukesh Narula is in on-going contact with Canadian squad members and developing prospects around the country. He is pleased with the recent performance of Canadian players for different teams in a tournament in Florida, as well as the opportunity for five leading young players to participate in a camp in the West Indies that could result in them gaining places with teams in the Caribbean Premier League next year.
