Indoor Cricket Events Underway and Completed

An indoor cricket tournament is underway in Winnipeg, organized by the Manitoba Cricket Association, while the Sea Hawks won the indoor fall league run by the Newfoundland and Labrador Cricket Association.

The Manitoba C.A. website currently lists an indoor league schedule for games on Saturdays and Sundays up to and including February 1, 2015. The indoor games are being played at Orioles CC and at Our Lady of Victory School.

Sea Hawks beat the Nomads by 12 runs in one N & L fall indoor league semi-final. Lions beat PSA by 2 wickets in the other semi-final. Gurman Khurana was the star with 51 not out as Sea Hawks plundered 80/2 from 10 overs in the final and beat Lions by 45 runs. Lions innings ended on 35/5 after 7.3 overs. Khurana was credited with a run out in the Lions innings.

Meanwhile in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the local cricket association went indoors to the Farmers Market before Christmas selling tickets for a Holiday Hamper draw that sought to raise funds for cricket in PEI. (EN)
