Mississauga club wins Hamilton & District Cricket League Ed Burns (T20) Trophy
Mississauga Ramblers won the final of the Ed-Burns on Sunday, July 12th played at Central Park, Burlington. Batting first Niagara Cricket Club was bowled out for a sub-par total of 69 runs. Opening burst from skipper Taresh and youngster Harsh set the tone. Taresh and Sami Faridi were the main wicket takers with 3 wickets each. Young Hamza Khan was brilliant behind the wickets, he took 4 catches and 1 stumping. Ramblers chased the total with 5 wickets in hand in 18th over. Taresh (21), Pankaj (17) and Faizan (13*) were the main contributors.
Earlier, in an exciting semi-final match played at the same ground on Saturday, skipper Taresh led the way by scoring 56 runs in just 31 balls to chase down a big total of 172 runs in just 18 overs against Oakville Cricket Club. He was very well supported by Roy Nayan Singh (38), Faizan (27) and Hamayun (16*).
This is the first time Mississauga Ramblers have won the Ed-Burns T20 championship. Hopefully more will follow in years to come!!
