Canada Under-19 games at 2016 ICC U19 World Cup

The schedule for the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was released today (December 7, 2015). Canada is drawn in Group B with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. All three of Canada’s opponents will have the benefit of these games taking place during the heart of the domestic cricket season in their respective countries, but will be far from the heart of the Canadian domestic season. Still, Canada’s official warm-up games provide a chance to get into the grove quickly against India (January 23, 2016) and Australia (January 25).
Canada’s first game in Group B will be against Sri Lanka at the SDVC ground, Sylhet, Bangladesh on January 28. Two days later (January 30) Canada takes on Pakistan at the same ground then concludes group action against Afghanistan at the SICS ground, Sylhet on February 1.
The three other groups in the initial phase of the tournament are:
Group A: South Africa, Bangladesh, Scotland & Namibia.
Group C: England, West Indies, Zimbabwe & Fiji.
Group D: Australia, India, New Zealand & Nepal.
The top two from each of the four groups will progress to the Super-8 phase and the lower two teams will participate in the Plate competition.(EN)
