WICB NAGICO Super50 Changes Announced

A West Indies Cricket Board Media Release (December 22 ,2015) advises changes to the composition of the two groups in the NAGICO Super50 and confirms the resultant changes to the schedule for Group matches . When the original structure for the two four-team groups in the opening round was originally released I thought, quietly to myself, that some might think the ICC Americas and Combined Campuses and Colleges teams might have been seeded into different groups. There might not be a massive live TV audience to see which of these two teams was drawn into a Group A, with the other being place in Group B; but a few folks might be interested. Several more folks might be interested in a live draw to see which group would include the other eight teams that regularly compete in the core regional structure under the WICB flag.

Anyway, the December 11, 2015 structure for the two Groups has now changed according to the WICB Media Release issued on December 22, 2015. ICC Americas remain in Group A but the Combined Campuses and Colleges team has now been switched to Group B. The Jamaica Scorpions have been moved to, presumably, add a bit more bite or sting in the tail within Group A.

ICC Americas still open with a game against Barbados Pride in Trinidad on January 7, 2016. ICC Americas will then play Jamaica Scorpions on January 9 and meet Trinidad & Tobago on January 11. In the second set of Group A games ICC Americas will play Barbados on January 13, Trinidad & Tobago on January 15 and complete group matches against Jamaica on January 17, 2016.

Trinidad & Tobago will host the semi-finals on January 20 and 21 with the Final set for Saturday January 23, 2016, with Sunday January 24 set as the reserve date for the Final in case of bad weather on the Saturday.
