Newfoundland cricket gets boost from grants

Cricket in Newfoundland moves a step forward this summer thanks to grants from the City of St. John’s for the construction of nets, and from the Provincial government for purchase of a Nottsport Powerplay artificial pitch. The nets will be constructed on city-owned facilities, re-purposing an under used tennis court, and the portable Powerplay system allows continued use of the RCAF field, where sharing of the facility with soccer and rugby means a permanent pitch cannot be installed
