Cricket Canada is pleased to announce the schedule for the first stage of the Cricket Canada HP camps. The camp is being conducted by veteran Zubin Bharucha, who was recently appointed by Cricket Canada as Director of Cricket Canada HP Academy. In a nationwide talent search, the Cricket Canada selectors have identified over 100 athletes to make up its first batch of prospects for the Cricket Canada HP academy. In the initial grading the players have been identified as :
The Senior team Pool (this group has players from the last selections)
The Senior Men’s HP Pool prospects (A team)
Development Pool (Talented players but not quite ready to be in A team and youth).
CAMP OBJECTIVES
Introduce minimum standards required to be an HP player for Cricket Canada
Introduce ways and means to achieve minimum standards with minimal costs
Player Assessment for HP Cricket Canada Academy and level assignment
Train regional coaches for HP athlete monitoring and set up of regional academies.
1st week: August 2nd to August 5th 2016-4 days
Development players and coaches from Ontario are being invited to attend this camp. Modern and unique cricket training skills will be introduced. This is a very intensive program that will test the skills learned and clearly demonstrate the acceptance level for playing advanced levels of competitive cricket. The equipment based training will be introduced which will benefit players that are self-motivated and committed. At the end of this week, some players may be asked to join the week 2 training as well.

2nd week August 8th to August 12, 2016- 5 days
All non-Ontario players and coaches from across the country are to participate in this camp. The participants are:
Senior team pool (will be notified by email)
Senior team HP prospects (A team)
Development Players from provinces other than Ontario
Coaches from provinces other than Ontario
Players promoted from Ontario Development Camp, the week before
All provincial organisation have been contacted to nominate their regional coaches to attend the camp. The players that have been selected to join the 2nd week of the camp, will receive the information before Monday, 25th July 2016.
Registration of independent coaches:
Persons involved in cricket coaching in Canada, whether certified or not are encouraged to attend this camp. Cricket Canada is interested in developing and promoting minimum standards for players that are interested in pursuing competitive cricket. The role of the coaches and/or mentors is important In developing a player.
