Ramblers batting in game 2

Toronto C.S.C.C. opened the campaign for T&D T-20 format, with an easy win against Ramblers C.C. on Sunday, 7 August at their home grounds. In the first game, Ramblers batting first managed only 134/5 in their allotted 20 overs with Sandeep Jyoti (39) Trev Yusuf (31) S. Vinod (24) and A. Kapoor (21), scoring the runs. Reza Rehman kept the home teams’ bowling tight with figures of 2/23 in four over’s. TCSCC knocked off the required target in 16.4 overs with Dudesh Dilshan (33 in 21 balls) Rizwan Cheema (51* in 40 balls) and Srimantha Wijeyeratne (44* in 37 balls) doing the scoring and remaining unbeaten. TCSCC won by 9 wickets.

In the second game, TCSCC won the toss and elected to bat finished the 20 overs with a score of 150/6 runs with once again Sudesh Dilshan (34) Cheema (23) Rehman (29) Wijeyeratne (17) and Surkari (14*) putting the runs on the board and setting a target of 151 to win for the Rambler’s. In their turn of batting, Rambler’s soon found the ‘Leg Spin’ of Veteran Mohamed Zameer difficult to handle and ended the 20 overs with only 124/8 giving the home team their second win for the day by 26 runs. Zammer had top figures of 04-0-14-03 with Subair Zia supporting him with figures of 03-0-25-02
TCSCC will play their second game on 13-August Saturday, against Vikings C.C. again at their own backyard on Avenue/Wilson Road grounds. First game begins at 12.00 noon.
As a lover of the game, I would like to see the organizers of the game T&D and the home teams adding a little glamour and colour to this beautiful format of the game which is now very popular throughout the globe by having some PA/DJ music with some noise before the game starts and a little bit during the end of the over, during breaks and getting some attractions to draw the crowd to make it popular among the cricketing fraternity of Toronto.
Let’s get together and try to put up the ‘Bar’ of the game; it is never an impossible task.
