The first cricket game in Cold Lake was held on Saturday, Aug. 13 and nearly 30 people came out to participate, learn and support the event. There were many skill levels from seasoned players, to people who knew nothing about the sport but wanted to learn.
“Canada is all about multiculturalism, it really is our strength and while cricket is newer in Canada, it is played all over the world,” said Azam Khan, organizer of the event and employee for the City of Cold Lake. “I have been in Cold Lake for six years and I have met many people who were interested and we thought it was time to showcase this sport in the area.”
