Centennial College was the only team to win all four games in the round-robin phase of the Canadian Colleges and Universities National Championship and finished top of Pool B. Sheridan College beat University of Toronto in a head-to-head encounter between Pool A’s unbeaten teams, then lost to 2015 champions University of Waterloo. Sheridan’s loss opened the door for the University of Toronto to take top spot in Pool A on net run rate, thanks to a win against McMaster University.
Sheridan and U of Toronto each ended with 3 wins and 1 loss in Pool A. Toronto had a net run rate of +0.838 which was better than Sheridan’s NRR of +0.494.
York University placed second in Pool B thanks to a record of 3 wins and 1 loss.
Centennial College plays Sheridan College in one of Friday’s semi-finals. University of Toronto meets York University in the other semi-final. The winning teams advance to Friday afternoon’s final at Maple Leaf Cricket Club, King City, Ontario.
