This Labour Day holiday weekend has the traditional Toronto and District Cricket Association (TDCA) junior playoffs, the wrap-up of the new Super 6 Division T20 regular season, and game 2 of the Canada High Performance XI v Bermuda XI. Other leagues in the Greater Toronto Area will doubtless have some busy schedules and there is a special event at the Toronto Police Cricket Ground on Sunday involving the 2016 Cricket Across the Pond Mayors XI, Toronto Police CC and RBC CC.
The Canada High Performance XI beat Bermuda XI by 2 wickets in game 1 on Friday at Maple Leaf. Saturday’s game is due to start at 10am. Bermuda then plays Mississauga Ramblers on Tuesday (Iceland Cricket Oval, Mississauga) and a TDCA XI on Wednesday (Maple Leaf CC, King City).
The Maple Leaf grounds host two pairs of Super 6 T20 regular season games today (Saturday, September 3, 2016). OCA/Overseas face JB Master CC in two games on one of the grounds while Cricket Club of Canada plays two games against Vikings on a different ground.
All six Super 6 Division teams are involved in matches on Labour Day Monday (September 5, 2016) that will wrap up this inaugural regular season of this new division and will cast the line-up for next week’s playoff between the second and third placed teams to decide who will meet the Super 6 regular season leaders in the Final on Sunday, September 6, 2016.
