National squad in Barbados

The national senior team is in Barbados on a training tour in preparation for the ICC Division 3 tournament in Uganda next month. Cricket Canada’s Facebook page reports Canada making 396/8 against club side St. Catherines, with Rizwan Cheema making 172 from 84 balls (14 sixes!).
Update: Cricket Canada has published a report and provided some background on their web site. It is a 5 match tour and a squad of 15 has travelled- not including national team captain Nitish Kumar, who is playing first-class cricket in the UK for Loughborough MCCU. Kumar has hit excellent early season form; after making 34 against Leicester he today (April 3) registered his first class best score, an impressive 141  from 145 balls (his second first-class century), with sixteen fours and five sixes against Northamptonshire.

Canada’s next match was on April 3, against the Police Sports Club. They continued to feast on club bowling with making 338/3 in 50 overs, Dhaliwal making 176, Soraine 54 retired hurt, Cheema 54 not out. They bowled out the Police for 129 all out, Junaid 3-22, Dhindsa 3 – 28, and Saad 2-15.
