We have learned that highly respected coach and the president of Toronto Cricket Academy Brian Hale has passed away. He helped train Ashish Bagai, Zubin Surkari and Nitish Kumar among many others. Brian moved from Guyana to Canada in 1971 – he had been a promising opening bat in Guyana where he played with the late Roy Fredericks. He represnted the national team, as well as scoring heavily for Victoria Park in the Toronto leagues. In 1992, Hale started the Toronto Cricket Academy (TCA), the first of its kind in Canada. The Academy made numerous overseas tours, and Brian Hale was recognised by the Province of Ontario, Cricket Canada and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
