The ROPSSAA (Region of Peel Secondary Schools Athletic Association) indoor cricket season draws to a close in the next few days. Two games remain to be played in the six school Varsity Girls competition, both involving Sandalwood Heights SS, and two games remain in the 24-school Senior Boys competition. The Junior Boys competition closed last week and an 84/34 win against Jean Augustine CSS carried Central Peel SS to a fifth win to complete an unbeaten record.
Humberview SS beat Heart Lake SS 36/35 to complete a 5/0 winning regular season in the Varsity Girls competition. Heart Lake beat Father Michael Goetz by 37 runs (66/29) and closed the season with a 3/2 record. Sandalwood Heights SS, currently 2/1, has opportunities to rise in the standings with games on Tuesday (May 2, 2017) against T.L. Kennedy (0/4) and on Wednesday (May 3) against Father Michael Goetz (2/2).

In the Junior Boys competition Central Peel moved to 5 wins from 5 games with an emphatic win by 52 runs (86/34) against Jean Augustine CSS, who are anchored at the bottom of the standings with 5 defeats. Jean Augustine were also well beaten by 54 runs against Castlebrook last week (72/18). North Park closed the regular season with a 40/34 win against Port Credit.
Castlebrook (3/1) is due to play Sandalwood Heights today (Monday, May 1) and closes the Junior Boys regular season on Tuesday (May 2) against currently unbeaten Central Peel (5/0).

Central Peel and Brampton Central registered the first tie of the season in Senior Boys action last week, both schools making 63 runs.
