ROPSSAA Indoor Cricket Playoffs Underway

The playoffs for the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association’s (ROPSSAA’s) indoor cricket championships are underway. The Senior Boys playoffs began last Friday (May 5, 2017) when the second- and third-place school teams from each of the four geographical qualifying divisions met to decide which school would advance to meet one of the top placed divisional teams on the road to the championship game. The single division Varsity Girls and Junior Boys competitions each had one division so the second- and third-place schools in these competitions played on Monday (May 8, 2017) for the chance to play in the championship game.

Varsity Girls Playoffs

Sandalwood Heights (2nd in regular season play) won 48/47 against Heart Lake (3rd) on Monday

Junior Boys Playoffs

Castlebrook (2nd) beat North Park (3rd) 31/29 on Monday and meets Central Peel (1st) in the Junior Boys Final on May 10, 2017.

Senior Boys Playoffs

Louise Arbour won 65/62 against Central Peel and now plays Sandalwood Heights in the next playoff round.
Castlebrooke won 31/30 against Lincoln M. Alexander and plays David Suzuki in the next round.
Port Credit won 64/42 by 22 runs against Rick Hansen and plays Stephen Lewis in the next round.
Glenforest 72 for 6 wickets (8 overs) beat Meadowvale 54.6 (8 overs) by 18 runs and plays T.L. Kennedy in the next round.
