Canada lose to Guyana

Canada were well beaten by Guyana in their fourth match in the West Indies Regional 50 over tournament. After a delayed start Canada batted first and thanks to 88 from Dhaliwal made 202/9. Guyana had little trouble passing that total in just 29.4 overs. Canada are now 0-4 in the tournament. They next play on Saturday.
Rain delayed the start and the game was played at 47 overs/ side. Canada won the toss and batted. Thomas made 5, before edging to slip; 14/1 and Adhihetty didn’t last long, edging another slip catch -15/2. Dhaliwal went onto the attack hitting a big six to mid-wicket, following it up with a four to the same spot. Accompanied by Thaker he brought up the 50 in the 11th over. Thaker made 10 before he mistimed a pull and caught at long leg. Kumar was run out for 14, but then Jacobs and Dhaliwal put together a good partnership of 59. Dhaliwal made 88 before being caught. Jacobs made 44 as Canada totalled 202/9.
Guyana got off to a flying start when Hemjay hit six consecutive fours from Heyliger’s second over. 49 was on the board after just 5 overs but then Canada fought back, taking three quick wickets- Eranga with 2 and Brar with the other. Canada had no more success as Barnwell (99*) and Refier knocked off the runs in 29.2 overs. )
