April 30, 2013 is the last day for schools to register for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) 2013 Schools Cricket Tournament where schools will compete for the different levels of CIBC Trophy.
As previously reported, the 2013 version of this tournament sees expansion into the York and Peel Regions, as well as continuing in Toronto. There are qualifying events scheduled in Toronto, Markham (York Region), Brampton and Mississauga (both Peel Region) from which the winners advance to the June 1, 2013 Championship finals at Sunnybrook Park, Toronto.
Late on Monday night (April 29) the following schools were shown as having registered for the 2013 tournament:
Markham: Bur Oak Secondary; Middlefield Collegiate Institute; Milliken Mills High School; and Stephen Lewis Secondary School.
Mississauga: Applewood Heights Secondary School; Glenforest Secondary School; Our Lady of Mount Carmel; Port Credit Secondary School; St. Francis Xavier Secondary School; Stephen Lewis Secondary School; and T.L Kennedy Secondary School.
Brampton: David Suzuki Secondary School; Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School; Heart Lake Secondary School; Louise Arbour Secondary School; North Park Secondary School; Sandalwood Heights Secondary School; and Turner Fenton Secondary School.
Toronto: Bowmore; C.W. Jefferys C.I.; Charles Gordon S.P.S.; Dr. Marion Hilliard Sr. P.S.; Earl Haig S.S.; Emery Collegiate Institute; Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School; George Harvey C.I.; Georges Vanier Secondary School; Lambton-Kingsway; Lester B. There are boys and girls championships plus separate senior and middle school age categories in the overall suite of this cricket tournament. Schools can register through the CIMA Canada website at www.cimacanada.org.
Peel Region – Indoor Schools Cricket Update: Results from Monday’s games in the 2013 Region of Peel Senior Boys Indoor Cricket competition:
Louise Arbour 56-6 (7.7 overs) beat Sandalwood 45 for 6 (7.3 overs);
St Margueritte d’ Youville 32 for 3 (8 overs) lost to Harold M. Brathwaite 33 for 2 (4 overs);
Heart Lake 57 for 4 (8 overs) lost to David Suzuki 58 for 3 (8 overs)
