Nova Scotia wins 2013 Maritimes 40 over Championship

Nova Scotia beat New Brunswick by three wickets last Saturday (September 21) to win the 2013 Maritimes 40 over Championship. Nova Scotia won three games with one scheduled match in September against Prince Edward Island being washed away by a storm .
New Brunswick made 148 for nine wickets from 40 overs and provided a challenge for Nova Scotia who reached a winning 150 for seven wickets in the 36th over. Opening bat Mohan Pal provided a solid base for Nova Scotia’s innings, scoring 67 runs from 83 balls. R.Rabbi top-scored for New Brunswick with 28 not out and chipped in with two wickets for 24 runs. The match was played at the University of New Brunswick’s ground in Fredericton.
New Brunswick powered to a nine wicket win against Prince Edward Island at Tea Hill Park, PEI on September 7. Opening bat T. Riyad made 32 and Akiel 28 in PEI’s 168 all out from 39 overs. Akram Khan took four wickets for just four runs from his eight overs. Bandekar took four wickets for 34 runs, also from four overs. F. Tousef the powered an exst 100 before being caught to end an opening partnership of 158. New Brunswick completed victory off the first ball of the 17th over. A. Chowdhury was 58 not out in his side’s 169 for one wicket. Tousef’s innings included eight fours and eight sixes.
