The sun and reasonable daily high temperatures in the 20’s C feature on the Toronto area weather forecasts for this coming weekend (September 28 &29). This bodes well for the re-scheduled Toronto and District Cricket Association’s playoffs if reality matches the forecast.
Maple Leaf CC in King City is due to stage the first phase of Elite and Premier Division playoffs on Saturday (September 28), followed by a second phase match for each Division on Sunday. The Elite and Premier division finals will then follow on Saturday October 6, 2013 when the sun is still claimed to be shining and no rain is in the forecast at the moment. Sunday October 6 is assigned as the reserve day.
Saturday’s Elite Division action is headed by the clash between number one ranked Brampton Masters Tranzac and number two ranked Centurions. Vikings face Toronto CSCCC in the other Elite Division game. The winner of the Vikings-Toronto game are then due to play the loser of the Brampton Masters Tranzac-Centurions game on Sunday (September 29).
The Division One playoffs also scheduled for Maple Leaf CC. On Saturday, Headstart Easterns play Toronto Salmiya with the winner due to play Victoria Park on Sunday. Brampton Masters meet Toronto CSCC on Saturday with the winner scheduled to face Civics on Sunday.
Assuming there are no weather issues on Saturday, then the winners of playoff games in Divisions One and Two at Ross Lord Park, Sunnybrook Park and Fairtree advance to the respective Finals at Maple Leaf CC on Sunday.
Similarly the winners from Saturday’s Division Three and Four advance to finals on Sunday at Ross Lord Park. In Division Five the winners of a game on Saturday will advance to the Final against Ghaznavi at Artesian on Sunday.
