The Americas squad take on Barbados for the second time today in the West Indies Nagico Super 50 tournament. They earned their first points against Trinidad and Tobago in their last match, albeit due to an abandoned match. The Barbados squad has been strengthened by the addition of West Indies test players returning from the Australian tour. The Americas are batting first after winning the toss. The Americas got off to a poor start. Gunasekera raced to 13 from 11 balls but then was lbw and Nitish Kumar made a duck – run out. Wijeratne and Tsylor put on 55, before Taylor was leg before to leave the Americas at 74/3. At the halfway point the Americas were 104/3 with Canadian Wijeratne on a patient 26 from 64 balls. He made 46 before being caught in the deep. Hamza Tariq contributed 21 as the Americas were bowled out for 202 in the final over. Barbados lost two wickets without a run on the board, but thanks to 86 from Kraigg Braithwaite won by 4 wickets. Nitish Kumar bowled well to take 2/33.
