Canadian U19 international Miraj Patel (Alberta) was awarded the MVP award. His 45* in the opening T20 game carried Alberta to victory after BC U19s had been held to just 89/5 from 20 overs. Abdullah Hashim (Alberta) won the Best Batsman award. He is credited with 47 runs in game 2 and followed with 46 in game 3. Historical Background: Jack Kyle served cricket in British Columbia and at the national level with the Canadian Cricket Association for some 60 years before his death in June 2012. His efforts to develop junior cricket saw him involved in annual cricket camps and in producing a development program for use across the country. The annual series between the Under-19 teams of British Columbia and Alberta for the Jack Kyle Cup was introduced as a memorial to honour his contribution to cricket in this country.
