The founder of this site, Jon Harris, died two years ago.Typically, Jon, who always gave his all, donated his body to science, and for the training of medical students. A memorial service was held on June 9 to commemorate Jon and the others who had been similarly generous. Friends and family placed roses and other flowers on the memorial, but lying amongst them could be found a cricket ball, inscribed with Jon’s motto “Always keep playing with a straight bat”, placed there by Jon’s partner in life, Sandy Hennessey. This site remains a small part of Jon’s legacy to cricket in Canada.
