Toronto win again

Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club, better known as TCSCC, continued their winning streak with another good win over Rambler’s Cricket Club of Mississauga, in their Super Six Elite Division game played over the week-end at Iceland Grounds.

Winning the toss, Rambler’s put Toronto to bat and saw the visitor’s record their highest total for the season, 308 for 6 with addition of 18 penalty runs ordered by the umpires against home teams slow over rate of the innings which ended up as 328/6 in 50 over’s. The opening pair of TCSCC, led by experienced skipper of the side, Srimantha Wijeyeratne and young 16 year old Bhavindu Adihetty put on 119 runs before Srimantha was out for 56 and then Bhavindu out for 69. Adding on to the score card was Rizwan Cheema with a quick fire 43, Zubin Surkari 39 with Saheed Keshvani (38*) and Mohamed Mujtaba (28*) remained unbeaten. Veteran Sandeep Jyoti 3/34 and S. Faridi 2/41 took five of the six wickets to fall.
Rambler’s started badly but recovered somewhat with a few partnerships performed in between and Vinod (74) with D. Harman (50) batting well. S. Dindsa (38) and U. Arshard (20) helped Rambler’s to get up to 200 plus but folded up their innings with tight resistance in bowling by Toronto’s all-rounder Raza Ur Rehman (4/49) and C. Hassan (3/39) being the main wicket takers to send Rambler’s to 242 all out in 46.3 over’s thus bringing in Toronto’s fourth win of the season and stay unbeaten.
