For three decades, Rev. KM Shanthikumar has lived, worked and volunteered in Scarborough–Rouge Park. Now he’s ready to get the job done as our next Member of Parliament.
Rev. KM Shanthikumar is a priest and telecommunications worker who is dedicated to serving his community.Since immigrating to Canada nearly 30 years ago, he’s been proud to call Scarborough his home.
Rev. KM Shanthikumar is an avid sportsman who once played on Canada’s national cricket team and continues to be involved as a coach and umpire. As founder and president of the Ceylon Cricket Academy in Malvern, he has seen first-hand the power of sport to engage young people. His academy has helped hundreds of youth learn teamwork, discipline and perseverance.
As a priest in Scarborough’s Tamil community, Rev. KM Shanthikumar is committed to building a fairer, more compassionate society. As part of his ministry, he regularly visits with seniors and families in need of care and support. He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree and studied commerce in India.
Rev KM Shanthikumar and his wife Joy are proud parents to three adult children.
