After an extended absence from international cricket, Canada’s women appear to be preparing for a return.

Cricket Canada’s Facebook account announces:

ONLY two days to go to the Ontario Women’s Trials! Everyone interested, please do not miss this opportunity. Only the players selected will be eligible to represent Team Canada in September against MCC, and USA later this year.

The announcement seems to be copied from Cricket Council of Ontario’s website but the posting by the national body confirms scheduled matches for the national team in 2016.  Canada’s women last played internationally in 2013 at the ICC Women’s World T20 Global Qualifier.

Meanwhile, the CCO is holding open trials for the Eastern women’s championship this evening (June 10th, 2016).
